This is a very beautifully restored car. Though I must say that I know little about cars, except how to photograph them. So I am wondering if you would be able to date a car by the hood ornament? I recently found a Pontiac of about this age, in very good condition. I was not able to get very good images though because of its location, what I have IS one good is the hood ornament. Would you be able to date the car from that? If you can help I would appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply. I have been able to confirm that it is a 1946 so please do not bother the members on my behalf.

there's no central location that pictures the indians to identify them
but you've given me a great idea
*goes to look*

yes... a central place would be very helpful. maybe it is a project that you could do :D A lot of people would certainly use it.

Usually you figure out model years in this era by the chrome, grilles, and fins- particularly Cadillacs from 1948 to 1965. I can get you within a year or two with most Caddys on the fins alone. ;)
